Clip and starting quality

Use the full animation or choose a shorter clip.

These are starting points, not limits. We test higher settings when there is room, up to the source size (max. 1920 px longest edge / 30 fps).

What should I choose?

Width = detail. Start at 720 px for most clips, 1080 px for small text or screen recordings, or 480 px for a very small target.

FPS = motion. 15 frames per second suits simple demos; 25–30 fps is a better starting point for scrolling, games, and fast movement.

The search may raise or lower these settings to fit. It never enlarges beyond the source dimensions. Your selected duration stays intact.

A small tip

Short clips usually look better at the same file size. An already fitting GIF is kept unchanged when you use its full duration. Compression can still reduce detail, smoothness or color fidelity.
